Blog instructions

Greetings everyone! Welcome to the Food Systems Planning course blog!

Each student will keep a food blog throughout the term. The purpose of the blog is twofold. First, it is a forum where you will provide reflections on course readings and concepts for the week. Students are expected to develop at least one entry every other week on course readings and concepts. The entries should include an exploration of key ideas and concepts in the readings, connections to their own lives and experiences, and a set of questions they would like to discuss further in class.
Secondly, the blog provides a reflective space on our own food choices. We can reflect on what we eat, where we shop, how we prepare foods, etc. You can think of this component of the blog as a food journal, identifying your own place in the larger food system. You will post logs at least every other week that fit this category. You should try to tie your reflections to course material as appropriate and scale up your thinking to the broader system.
Each entry should be about 200-400 words in length.
These reflections are meant to initiate thoughtful discussion of course content outside of class as well as in class. Thus, students should visit other blog entries and comment on at least two other postings for each week.
